 In this work, the "King of the Forest" reveals himself in a new guise: not as a predator, but as the guardian of ancient wisdom and noble vulnerability. "Giulio" is a portrait of the soul that challenges the viewer to look beyond the imposing mane to glimpse the sentient being that dwells within.

 Made using the watercolor technique on 100% cotton paper, the painting plays on a sophisticated palette of sepia, mauve and warm ochre tones.
 The fluid brushstrokes and transparent glazes allow the lion's face to emerge almost dreamily from the white paper, while the minute details of the eyes—alive, lucid, and intense—anchors the image to an almost tangible reality.
