The bruised face and vacant gaze of the child, held in a protective embrace, emerge with devastating force.
The scene is dominated by the contrast between the whiteness of the skin and the red traces of the wound, against a blue background that evokes pain and hope. The shades blend into a liquid embrace that pulsates with a silent urgency.
This is not a simple work of art, but a direct contribution to raising awareness, where watercolor becomes a voice.
The composition is embellished with essential, powerful brushstrokes that capture the child's vulnerable expression and the adult's protective tenderness. The work exploits the transparency of watercolor to suggest the fragility of life.
Your environment will gain in ethical depth and awareness, thanks to the touching balance created between the brutality of war and the dignity of the victim.
This work was created entirely by hand, celebrating art's ability to touch and shake consciences.
📣 Message and Initiative
This watercolor is my contribution to Corrado Leoni's important initiative, which calls on all artists to use their talents to raise awareness of the atrocities of the war in Palestine.
“A society that erases the colors from a child's eyes is inexorably destined for oblivion.”
Each of us can do something, within our own capabilities and abilities, even if it's just to raise awareness and break down the wall of indifference. It's a duty for those who are still human.
TECHNICAL DATA SHEET:
Artwork size: A3 format
Technique: Professional watercolor with pure pigments and intentional use of the color red for emotional contrast.
Support: High quality 100% cotton paper with grain (guarantees the preservation of colours over time and a fine texture).
Condition: Original work, unique piece, on paper, unframed (it is not a print).
Certificate: Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist, Barbara Carretta.
STYLE NOTE:
It's perfect when framed with a very wide optical white mount to isolate the subject and amplify its emotional impact. A thin frame in matte black wood or gunmetal metal would complete the work, giving it a sober, essential look that focuses on the message.
